Alumni Highlight: Opening the Doors to Innovation at Censys Technologies Corporation

This past Friday marked an exciting milestone for our StarterStudio alumni, Trevor Perrott, CEO & Co-Founder of Censys Technologies Corporation, with John Lobdell, CTO & Co-Founder, also joining as they opened their doors for a dynamic showcase of innovation, growth, and real-world impact. The open house went beyond a traditional product demonstration – offering a deeper look into what their team is building and why it matters for the future of aerial intelligence.

A Full-System Experience

Bringing together customers, partners, investors, legislators, and community members, the event highlighted the full scope of the Censys platform. Attendees explored the company’s newly redesigned headquarters while gaining insight into how its aircraft, software ecosystem, and operational vision came together to solve complex, real-world challenges.

A standout moment of the day was a live ~35 mile BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) mission flown directly from HQ. This real-time demonstration underscored the scalability and reliability of the technology our alumni are helping bring to market.

Leadership & Community Engagement

The event also welcomed key state leaders, including Kim Kendall and Tom Wright. Their presence reflects the growing alignment between Florida’s policymakers and emerging technology companies – and highlights how alumni-founded and -led ventures are contributing to the state’s innovation ecosystem.

Continued Momentum

The open house is just one example of the continued progress at Censys Technologies. From advancing BVLOS capabilities to expanding their integrated hardware and software ecosystem, the team is actively scaling solutions that support critical infrastructure, public safety, and commercial operations.

A Nod to the Journey

Visitors also had the chance to view a curated photo wall capturing key moments in the company’s journey – from early roadshows to operational deployments. These snapshots reflect the depth of experience, innovation, and persistence that has fueled the company’s growth.

Looking Ahead

We’re proud to see our alumni at Censys Technologies continuing to push boundaries and deliver meaningful innovation. Events like this not only showcase technological advancement, but also reflect the strength of the community, partnerships, and vision driving progress forward.

As Censys continues to scale, their work stands as a strong example of how alumni are shaping the future of aerospace and advanced technology – both in Florida and beyond.
