🚀 Why Orlando, Why Now?

Last month’s Innovate Orlando Tech Summit brought Central Florida’s tech and startup community together around a clear message: the time for potential has passed – this is the era of execution.

For years, Orlando was described as “up-and-coming.” Today, that narrative no longer fits. Orlando is not emerging. It is executing.

With strong technical talent, world-class research institutions like the University of Central Florida, growing industry clusters in simulation, aerospace, energy, and AI, and a deeply collaborative community of founders and operators, the region is actively building and scaling innovation.

🤝 A Community That Builds Together

One of the standout moments of the summit was the StarterStudio Startup Showcase, where founders demonstrated what real traction looks like across industries:

  • Ali Tamijani, Novineer:  Advancing manufacturing and engineering optimization to help organizations operate smarter and more efficiently.

  • Trevor Perrott, Censys: Enabling smarter infrastructure through sensing technology that improves visibility, safety, and decision-making.

  • Joe Sleppy, Capacitech Energy: Rethinking energy storage solutions with innovative capacitor-based systems designed for flexibility and performance.

  • Shamiyon Jett, OViiE Ai Inc: Applying AI-powered voice translation to elevate hospitality and create more inclusive guest experiences.

  • Jacques Fu, PETE Learning: Modernizing education and workforce pathways to better align talent development with employer needs.

Also representing the current StarterStudio community, Laura Garrison, a current Build Cohort participant, Founder & CEO of Hello World Solutions and Joe Casalese, a recent Pre-Seed graduate, Founder & CEO of Roofbids, had booths set up at the Tech Summit, showcasing their innovations to the Orlando startup ecosystem.

These founders represent more than promising ideas. They represent momentum.

⚡ From Potential to Performance

The takeaway from the summit was unmistakable: Central Florida startups aren’t just preparing to compete – they’re already performing.

Capital is flowing. Corporate partnerships are forming. Technology is moving from prototype to market. And founders are choosing to build here not because Orlando is affordable or accessible – but because it is strategic.

We have:

  • A steady pipeline of engineering and technical talent
  • Access to global markets through strong industry ties
  • A culture that favors collaboration over competition
  • Operators and mentors who reinvest their experience back into the ecosystem

Execution is now the standard.

🌟 Orlando’s Moment Is Now

The phrase “Why Orlando?” used to require explanation.

Today, the better question is: Why not Orlando?

The infrastructure is here. The talent is here. The innovation is here. And the companies showcased last month are proof that this region is not waiting for its moment.

Orlando’s moment isn’t ahead of us.

It’s already here.
