🚀 Celebrating Alumni Success: Aloft Biotechnologies Earns Recognition on Florida’s Startup Stage

🌟 Alumni Founders Advance Biotechnology and Space Innovation

We are proud to celebrate an extraordinary milestone achieved by our StarterStudio alumni, Shannon Fedenko, CEO of Aloft Biotechnologies, and Isaac Finger-Baker, Co-Founder, whose groundbreaking work is advancing the future of biotechnology both on Earth and beyond.

At the 18th Annual Florida Venture Forum Early Stage Venture Conference, held in Orlando on June 3, 2026, Aloft Biotechnologies received the prestigious Accelerating Innovation Award and was selected for a $50,000 investment from Space Florida. The award was part of a broader $150,000 investment initiative designed to support Florida’s most promising early-stage technology companies.

Selected from a competitive field of 32 innovative ventures, Aloft was one of only six companies recognized by a panel of judges from Space Florida and Florida Venture Forum. Companies were evaluated based on innovation, market potential, and alignment with emerging industries, including aerospace, defense, and advanced technologies.

🧬 Transforming the Future of Biomanufacturing

Headquartered in Alachua, Florida, Aloft Biotechnologies is developing next-generation biomanufacturing systems for space-based cell culture and biologic production. The company is addressing one of the most significant challenges in orbital biotechnology: enabling efficient oxygen and nutrient transport in microgravity environments.

While Aloft’s long-term vision centers on commercial biomanufacturing in space, the company is already generating meaningful impact through applications in advanced cell therapy manufacturing on Earth. Through proof-of-concept collaborations with Sartorius, Aloft is working to enhance induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) and T-cell bioreactor performance.

By creating technologies with application in both space biotechnology and regenerative medicine, Aloft is building dual-use infrastructure that has the potential to transform healthcare, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing for years to come.
