ORLANDO, Fla. – August 27, 2019StarterStudio’s fall Ideation-Stage Accelerator class marks the first time a cohort of Central Florida tech entrepreneurs is taking part in programming offered by CO.STARTERS, a nationwide network supporting a wide range of startups.

Participants will leave the 10-week accelerator with a deeper understanding of how to create a sustainable business, the ability to articulate how their businesses work, the next steps needed to move forward, and a community of peers, mentors, and business services that are all part of a global support network. The accelerator program is sponsored by IBERIABANK.

“IBERIABANK’s partnership with StarterStudio to offer the CO.STARTERS program exemplifies our commitment to nurturing an entrepreneurial community and catalyzes a movement to develop the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders for the community,” said Ross Breunig, IBERIABANK Central Florida President.

CO.STARTERS weekly topics include “Knowing Your Customer,” “Building the Model to Scale,” and “Discovering Your Bottom Line.” Launched nationally in 2013, CO.STARTERS currently serves communities all over the United States and around the world.

“As a mentor for StarterStudio for the past three years, I am very impressed with the structure and content of the CO.STARTERS program,” said facilitator Bob Reed of ReedScott. “I’m enthusiastic and eager to help facilitate the program for entrepreneurs participating in the Ideation Accelerator. Adopting this program demonstrates the continued commitment to provide the best tools and resources to support the success of the startup community in Central Florida.”

StarterStudio’s Class 11 includes 11 starters, the majority of whom are focused on connecting people through various forms of social networking and online transactions involving sports, travel, dating, interactive learning, philanthropy and business. The 11 teams were selected from among more than 65 applicants.

“We’re really excited both by and for this cohort,” said Donna Mackenzie, StarterStudio’s executive director. “They bring a lot of promising ideas and will be the first to benefit from all that CO.STARTERS adds to the experience.”

The early-stage companies looking to vet and refine their business ideas are:

Fan Retreat: An experience platform that empowers people with the ability to turn live events into memorable experiences. Users can easily buy and coordinate the purchase of event tickets and travel accommodations together.

She Plays: A platform for women’s professional sports leagues in the U.S. that aims to help them become sustainable and increase their sports media coverage.

Reviox: A mobile app that allows companies to set up and manage collaborative loyalty systems. This allows business networks to utilize one system to engage, reward and connect with their guests.

KidFlix: An interactive learning platform that allows parents to have educational questions periodically pop up while their child is watching YouTube, turning screen time into learning time.

Ahillz: A cross-platform SDK that provides mobile publishers with Corporate Social Responsibility tools by enabling users of any app to browse charitable causes they care about and donate. Ahillz helps mobile publishers become responsible companies fast and increase customer loyalty.

The Lead Lion: A technology driven lead generation company currently specializing in the insurance verticals and focused on solving cost issues, product quality control, and the life cycle of leads.

OxyApp: Tinder sparks the flame, oxy keeps it going. OxyApp is your relationship’s breath of fresh air: built to guide, sustain, and encourage the spark between each other.

ALFI Solutions: A b2b automotive fintech company designed to offer dealerships a compliance solution in a platform that maximizes profits by leveraging technology to optimize financing options.

Visit: It’s more than a meeting. Visit is a place that makes time with others fun to plan. Spend more time connecting, not organizing schedules.

The Financial Literacy Project: A new take on financial education. We want to provide an efficient, comprehensive, and inviting platform to help people feel more comfortable with personal finance and investments.

Pick App Sports: A platform that connects communities through casual sports.

Each team will have the opportunity to pitch its company at Demo Day later this fall as part of the program.
